Security and resilience

Backup, disaster recovery and resilience

Immutable backups, tested recovery and a plan everyone understands, so a bad day never becomes a disaster.

Overview

Why it matters

Microsoft keeps its services running, but that is not the same as a full backup of your data. Ransomware, accidental deletion and departing staff can all take data with them.

We design backup and disaster recovery around how long you can afford to be down and how much data you can afford to lose. Then we test it, regularly.

Who it is for
Anyone who cannot afford to lose data or time
How we engage
Design projects and managed backup services
Outcome
Recovery you have tested, not just assumed

Capabilities

What we deliver

Microsoft 365 backup

Immutable copies of email, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams that cannot be altered or deleted for a set period.

Server and data centre backup

Backups for servers, virtual machines and storage, with copies kept off-site.

Replication and failover

Copies of critical systems in a second location, ready to take over.

Disaster recovery planning

Recovery targets agreed with leadership, and a written plan for how to meet them.

Testing and exercises

Regular test restores and an annual disaster recovery exercise with written findings.

Ransomware resilience

Isolated, immutable backups that attackers cannot encrypt or delete.

Plain English first

What it means for you, and the technical detail

What it means for you

  • Your data backed up automatically
  • Recovery tested, not assumed
  • A plan everyone knows how to follow
  • Confidence for boards, insurers and auditors

The technical detail

  • Recovery time objective (RTO): how long you can afford to be down
  • Recovery point objective (RPO): how much data you can afford to lose
  • Off-site and immutable storage
  • Documented runbooks and test reports
  • Business continuity planning support

How we work

From first conversation to results

  1. Assess

What you have, what matters most and what the risks are.

  2. Design

Backup and recovery designed around agreed RTO and RPO targets.

  3. Implement

Backups, replication and documentation put in place.

  4. Test

Regular restores and an annual disaster recovery exercise.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Does Microsoft not already back up Microsoft 365?

Microsoft keeps the service running, but under its shared responsibility model your data remains your responsibility. A separate, immutable backup protects you from deletion, ransomware and account compromise.

How often do you test recovery?

We agree a testing schedule with you, with regular test restores and at least one full disaster recovery exercise a year.

Can you recover a whole site or data centre?

We design recovery for everything from a single file to complete sites, including replication to a second location where the business case supports it.
